Swat Valley is a high-altitude tourist destination located in the northwest mountains of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The Swat Valley is situated on the swat river, at the coordinates of 35°12′N 72°29′E, which is at about 247 Km (153 Miles) distance from the capital city Islamabad in Pakistan.It is one of the most famous archeological sites of the Buddhist period. Swat was said to be filled with 1400 beautiful stupas and monasteries. They were used as worship houses for 6,000 gold images of the Buddhist and also for creating awareness about the Buddhism religions through education.Swat Valley is famous for its natural wonders that include its breathtaking diverse landscape and natural wildlife. Swat has numerous scenic countrysides, lush forests, and impressive high peak mountains. This all provides a suitable natural habitat for wildlife as well as attracts tourists.Swat Valley (Swat) is known as the 'Switzerland' of Pakistan because of its snow-capped mountains and beautiful scenery. Once a Taliban stronghold, there was not peace in the Valley until the Pakistan military forces conducted special operations and purified the whole area.People of Swat are very caring, hospitable and friendly.Swat Valley is a place for nature lovers,archeologist and nature photographers.Summer is the popular season to visit Swat valley.The language that is spoken by people of Swat is “Pashto”.Swat is famous for its handicrafts.Wood carving, stone carving, handicrafts and embroidery of Swat are very famous and represent the Swat culture and heritage. Woolen blankets, shawls, and rugs are very beautiful and women of Swat can weave them with their hands. Panhey is the old fashioned shoes used by old persons in Swat.

Malam Jabba, Swat Vally

Malam Jabba (also Maalam Jabba, Urdu: مالم جبہ) is a Hill Station and ski resort in the Hindu Kush mountain range nearly 40 km from Saidu Sharif in Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. It is 314 km from Islamabad and 51 km from Saidu Sharif Airport.above sea level. It is located in the mountains of Karakoram range. It is the most beautiful and top skiing Hub with a lot of skiing resorts. It is the only best place that offers skiing at a big level.The Malam Jabba Ski Resort is in the Hindu Kush mountain range has all that a sportsperson would like to climb or travel at the elevation of 2,804 meters (9,199 ft) for perfect winter sports.There are two Buddhists Stupas and almost six Monasteries spread around the resort. When you are going to Malam Jabba, you will come across Swat that is also known as “Switzerland of Pakistan“. All the stupas and monasteries are open for the public and you can go there to know more about Buddhists history. In ancient times, all these places were owned by Buddhists and you can see their stone god statues on upper mountains.

Shingrai Waterfall, Swat Valley

Swat is a valley of waterfalls and streams, and one of the most beautiful is the Shingrai Waterfall. The waterfall is located at the foothill of Dwasaray peaks. Shingrai Waterfall can be reached within one hour from the most favorite district of Mingora. The enchanting waterfall captures thousands of tourist, and rare type of fauna and flora forms a perfect tourist spot.One of such unexplored places is Shingrai waterfall, at the foothills of Dwasaray peaks about 20 kilometers north of Mingora.The huge waterfall gives a roaring sound amid gigantic hills overlooking it mesmerizing the onlookers. Local Tourists come every Friday to refresh theirselves amid natural beauty. It is a dazzling place perched between high green mountains.In first time visit one's minds can't believe that such a beautiful and mesmerizing place is located just an hour’s drive from Mingora, it is a perfect family site where people could enjoy serene nature and be refreshed. While the waterfall offers panoramic view from atop, it captivates visitors with its roaring noise punctuated by chirping of birds.

Kundol Lake, Swat Valley

This Kundol Lake is located right in the north of the Utror valley. You can have an access to this lake by making your journey from the region of Kalam and then making your headway to the region of Utror. After reaching to Utror, you will see that a link road will appear and this road will take you to a green valley named as Ladu. This valley is located right in the foothills of this Kundol Dand lake.Kundol Lake also known as Kundol Dand, is a lake in Swat Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, which is located in the north of Utror valley at a distance of 19 km away from kalam. Similarly, there is a well known story about the lake which is that every night in a month, a golden bowl appears in the center of the lake and glistens like moon but no one has ever touched that bowl due to magical powers inside it.Kundol Lake is accessible only during the summer; during the winter, the roads are closed due to heavy snowfall. It can be accessed by unmetalled road from Kalam up to Utror in a four-wheel automotive where a link road ends in a green valley called Ladu in the foothills of the mountain. Earlier, jeeps used to go till a higher village called Ladu but now bridge and jeep track is destroyed due to floods and rains so total trek time has increased from 3-4 hrs to 6-8 hrs till the lake. There are also small refreshment huts in Ladu valley where one can take tea and get something for eating. From Ladu it takes almost four to six hours to reach the lake. The mountains around this small valley are covered with tall cedar and pine trees.

Kalam Valley, Swat valley

Kalam Valley is located in upper Swat at a distance of 96km (59 miles) from Mingora and 326 km (202 miles) from Islamabad in Pakistan. The Kalam valley town and hill station are situated at an elevation of about 2,000m (6,600 ft), yet its other tourist attractions raise up to approximately 6,096m (20,000 ft) in high.Kalam is geographically surrounded by Matiltan in the northeast, Utrar in the west, and Bahrain Valley in the south towards the mainland.An although the more remote areas still see land disputes being resolved with guns, the main tourist spots of Swat, such as Mingora and Kalam Valley, are safe for tourists to visit.
